Immunization Action Program


The following immunizations are given at the Gallia County Health Department : DTaP , Hepatitis B , HIB , IPV (Polio) , Menactra, MMR , Prevnar (Pneumococcal) , Td , Tdap, Varicella (Chickenpox), Hepatitis A, HPV and Rotavirus. Immunizations are provided at no charge to children 18 and under, who are Ohio residents. The immunizations are given Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM. All children should have a current immunization record and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Information about the vaccines can be obtained by clicking on the blue lettering. The Immunization Schedule is:
Birth-Hep B
2 Months-DTaP, Hep B, HIB, IPV, Prevnar, Rotavirus 
4 Months-DTaP, HIB, IPV, Prevnar, Rotavirus 
6 Months-DTaP, HIB, IPV, Prevnar, Rotavirus 
12 Months-MMR, Varicella, Hep A, TB skin test
15-18 Months-DTaP, Hep B, HIB, Hep A 
4-6 Years of Age-DTaP, IPV, MMR, Varicella, TB skin test
Td Booster is needed every 10 years
Td Booster is needed after 5 years with an injury 
11-18 Years of Age - Tdap, Menactra
9-18 Years of Age - HPV (females only)

Hepatitis A is available for VFC qualified children at no cost.  For those with private insurance the cost is $23.00 a dose. The Hep A vaccine is a two dose series with the injections spaced six months apart.
The Rotavirus is available for VFC qualified children at no cost.  For those with private insurance the cost is $89.00 a dose.  The Rotavirus is a three dose series given orally, and to be completed by the age of 8 months old. 
The HPV Vaccine (Guardasil) is available for VFC qualified children at no cost.  For those with private insurance the cost is $131.00 a dose.  The HPV vaccine is a series of three doses; the first injection given, two months later the second, then six months from the first date of injection you recieve the last dose.
