The Gallia County Health District maintains birth records for those who were born in Ohio from 1908 to present. 

• CERTIFIED COPIES ARE $25.00 EACH. THIS DEPARTMENT DOES NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS. CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY.

Only certified copies (by order of the State Vital Statistics Office effective July 1, 2003) are available from local Health Departments.  Uncertified copies and wallet size certificates are no longer issued. 

In Person:

Birth certificates are available at our office during regular business hours (8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.) Monday – Friday. You will be asked to fill out an application for each record requested. Certificates are made while you wait and usually take only a few minutes.
